This lot was purchased by the late Mr. McKnight, Naval Storekeeper, from the original purchaser, and after expending upon it upwards of £2,700, having 7 shops built on a small portion of the (M.65.) lot, was sold, after his demise, by public auction, and was purchased by Mr. Juddell, for £44.3.4, more on speculation than with a view to build upon it. The rent derived from the 7 shops is barely sufficient to pay one half the ground rent.
Two Chinese chops built on this lot; let at about £20 per annum for both.
Three Chinese shops built on this lot; let at about £81.2.2 and £87 per annum for the whole.
A lot of ground purchased by Mr. Buddell for the purpose of training horses, rearing poultry, pigs, cows, &c.
There are three houses (one large and two middling) built on this lot, very much out of repair and have been untenanted. The Military Government tendered £200 premium for this lot to Mr. Duddell, before any houses were built thereon, and the offer was refused.
